There are bins under the kitchen sink for collecting trash and recycling. The house trash and recycling bins are in the hof in the rear of the house. Please segregate and dispose of your trash and recycling as follows:

Blue Bin (blaue Tonne) – Clean paper and cardboard. Please flatten all cardboard before placing it in the bin to save room for others.

Brown Bin (Biomühl) – For biodegradable goods. It is used to make biogas and compost. Please don’t use plastic bags, only biodegradable or paper bags.

Yellow or Orange Bin (Wertstsoffetonne) – Plastic, metal containers and packaging, and containers with the Grüner Punkt logo.

Gray Bin (Restmühl) – Things that you can’t sell, donate, or recycle.

Glass items go in either the clear/white glass (Weißglas) bin or the colored glass (Buntglas) bin.
